THE DEMIGODS

NIENNA, DEMIGODDESS OF THE SEA
Noted Followers: Toad Lickers, Silvermoon, Shinku Moon of the Duchy of Terraria, Tagz of Sharktooth Shipping

History:
Before she was chosen for this Realm, Nienna was of noble elf blood. Her people, the Valar, felt that mortal follies were beneath them and that even some of the lesser Elven realms were too common and paltry for their tastes. They spent their time divining the will of the Gods from the expanses of stars and stirrings of the currents. Her brethren trailed silently across the oceans in their grand ethereal ships. They remained neutral in all mortal affairs, even as terrible wars and horrific acts of bloodshed soaked the lands. Time and time again different mortal groups called upon Nienna's people for aid. Although they were adept at healing magic and rumored to have discovered knowledge of recovering souls from the realm of the dead, Nienna's people gave no response.

Their cold indifference enraged many. It was a dark time where hope had all but faded and no kind words were spoken. The different mortal races prayed to their gods, sacrificed, burned, and bled. A curse was placed on the Valar. Fearsome beasts swam forth from the depths and the oceans churned in ugly storms. The majestic ships of the Valar were dashed upon cliffs and pulled deep into the seas. Nienna's people were decimated and drowned by vengeful gods. Nienna had a different fate than her people. A wave of magical sea water crashed into her, the harsh salts blinding her vision. When she opened her eyes she could only see the suffering around her. She saw each mourning soul, each loss, each weeping mother and lost child. She was forced to witness terrible acts of violence from the wars at hand all in vivid detail. Nienna was punished for her people with this curse from the Gods and she wept. She was flooded with the compassion and sympathy her people had always lacked. She begged the Gods to let her help, to ease the suffering for these people.

The Gods sent her to purgatory to atone.
Nienna grieved for the lost souls trapped in Aeston Isles. On her great ships she ferried the souls of the dead between realms, whether to the Gods above or the Underworld. She pitied those deemed unworthy of either realm and seeked to ease their suffering in Aeston Isles. Nienna was sworn to guide the lost souls there to their final resting place - whether through righteous and kind acts or vile acts and sin - she hoped to tip the scales of moral judgement for each soul so that they may pass on to the next world.

Nienna valued compassion and was associated with healing. the moon, and the Sea.

Status: Alive
Nienna transported as many souls as she could from Aeston Isles to their new home Karthmere. The trip between Karthmere and the other realms is longer so her prescence is scarce nowadays but she remains bidden to transport newly lost souls to the Isles.
GRUMNIR, DEMIGOD OF THE FORGE
Noted Followers: Duchy of Terraria, High Helm, Illyria of the Ethuil Pack

History:
Grumnir was forged in the fires of The Old World. A powerful High King to a notorious Karak, Grumnir was the epitome of innovation. From drawing blueprints of Karaks, to making great flying machines of war. Clans not only respected Grumnir, but yearned for his technology. In the war of the shield, a great Clan leader by the name of Barrabor Silverbeard challenged Grumnir, inciting civil war between the great Dwarven clans of the mountains, with the hope to take Grumnirs tech for himself.
Though Barrabor, a great general within his own right, fought a valiant campaign, he was no match for the might of Grumnirs technology. Grumnir united the once warring Dwarven clans under one banner, for the first time in the history of the old world. Throughout his remaining years Grumnir oversaw his realm as once derelict Karaks became great booming fortresses, he watched the once uninhabitable mountains became luxurious stone and marble habitats in which his kin flourished.
In his waning years, as Grumnir grew old and decrepit he passed on his now powerful kingdom to his next of Kin. As he lay on his deathbed, a voice spoke to him. “Your work is not done Grumnir, there are others who need redemption just as you have redeemed the Dwarves of the old world”. In that moment Grumnir was ripped from his body, he watched it die, and in a flash, Grumnir now 40 something years younger awoke, naked, cold, on a beach, the waves crashing against the reefs.
Grumnir the Red pined for the redemption of all races. Believing Aeston isles was a second chance for those who had passed over to make their mark, just as he did in life. A craftsman at heart, Grumnir valued grand architecture and held those who demonstrated it close to him.
Grumnirs was associated with building, crafting and forging powerful legacies.

Status: Unknown
During Aeston Isles final days, Grumnir locked himself in his great stronghold with key artifacts to attempt to buy some time for the realm so the souls could get out on Nienna's ship. It is unknown what became of him but he is likely perished.

ANDAS, DEMIGOD OF DISEASE
Noted Followers: Remnants of Orsinium, Sharktooth Shipping, Bilechuggers, Gibletshire Holdings
History:
Andas was once a cult leader for a very chaotic religion. Baptized by disease and kept alive through rot and famine, he was promised excess happiness and immortality if we were to just sacrifice those near and dear to him. Once he’d killed his family, he was tried and found guilty of murder and witchcraft. It was on the gallows that the gift was given to him. The floor fell out and the rope went taught. Andas’ body came to a jarring halt, snapped a few times and excreted itself of its final living waste. Imagine the towns folks horror when he began laughing maniacally from behind the burlap sack, working to untie his binds. Imagine worse as in the following months their entire village and countryside fell to the worst plague ever seen in the countries history.
For his efforts Andas was offered a realm to watch over. There were to be three Gods to watch over souls who would be stuck in limbo. They were to be caring and loving Gods. Somehow Andas was snuck in there by his benevolent master to represent the chaotic, anarchistic, and diseased God. However, you'd be hard pressed to find a more merry and happy person to be around. Andas loved all his subjects and more than anything wanted to bestow his gifts to them. You see, all those lost in the plague brought upon by Andas’ death now served the Great Unclean Master, and they had never been happier.
Andas represented chaos. Where one should fear, they love. With Andas, you never knew what to expect, and his gifts were not always what they seem.

Status: Deceased
Andas trapped his own soul in the Underworld to prevent Vexor the Necromancer from capturing it during Aeston Isles final battle.
